About us
City Center Hotel is a cosy, 30-room hotel on Austurstræti, right in the heart of downtown Reykjavík. Step outside and you’ll find many of the city’s best restaurants, bars, cafés, shops and sights within easy walking distance.
We like to keep things simple. Check-in is fully automated, so there’s no need to wait at reception when you arrive. Your room details and access code are sent directly to you before your stay, giving you the freedom to arrive when it suits you. And if you need anything while you’re here, our team is never far away.
Downstairs, our lounge is a relaxed place to take a break after a day in the city. Pour yourself a drink from the honesty bar, or stop by our pop-up bar when it’s open in the evenings.
Most of all, we want City Center Hotel to be an easy and comfortable base for your time in Reykjavík – with the city right outside the door.

At City Center Hotel, we want your arrival to be as easy and flexible as possible. That’s why we offer a fully automated self check-in experience, allowing you to arrive and access your room without waiting at reception.
Before arrival, you will receive all the information you need by email, including your room number and access code. Simply follow the instructions and head straight to your room when you arrive.
While our team does not handle check-ins at the reception desk, we are always here when you need us. Our staff are around the hotel, and assistance is just a phone call away using the reception phone.
Once you’re settled in, make yourself at home in our lounge. Help yourself at the honesty bar, or join us at our pop-up bar on selected evenings for a drink and a relaxed atmosphere.
City Center Hotel is a non-smoking hotel and offers facilities for guests with disabilities.

Where can we park?
The international airport Keflavik (KEF) is approximately 50km away from the hotel. Our address is Austurstraeti 6, 101 Reykjavik, we are located at the heart of the main city. We do not have dedicated parking for the hotel, you will need to use street parking within the city core. This is common for hotels located in the 101 district. Most parking areas in the downtown area charge a fee of 190-390 ISK per hour (depending on zone) from between 9:00 and 18:00 on weekdays and 10:00 and 16:00 on Saturdays (Sundays are free of charge) and most of them are very close to our hotel. You can, though, usually find some areas where you can park free of charge if you are willing to drive around the streets surrounding the downtown area, and walk back. You can download the app Parka, it will show you the parking zones and fees for the city center. There are free zones and also parking houses nearby as shown through the link below:

Can I check in early?
Early check-in service is subject to general availability and of room type booked.
If service is available, we implement an early check-in fee.
To guarantee your room would be ready when arriving on an early morning flight, we recommend booking a pre-night.
Our standard check-in time is at 15:00
Can I check out late?
Late check-out is subject to availability and may be subject to a fee.
Standard check-out is at 11:00
When service is available, we offer late check-outs until 14:00.
Otherwise, we would advise that you book an extra night if you need to check out very late.
Kindly use the phone on the ground floor the evening before your check-out date to inquire about the availability of this service.
Do you offer luggage storage?
We offer luggage storage for guests upon their arrival date while waiting for check-in and on their departure date while they are waiting for their transport to the airport. This service is complimentary.

How do I check out?
Checking out is quick and easy. On the day of your departure, simply scan the QR code in your room and follow the instructions to complete your check-out.
